Hello ! This project is my final year university honours project.

All assets seen in the demo are my own, aside from the skybox.
This project is a 16km2 real-time playable environment heavily inspired by the Vercors region in France, a place very close to my heart. Through this project, I used my own photography and photogrammetry, as well as UE5's PCG and Nanite tools. The aim of this project was to investigate large-scale environment creation pipelines through the use of Nanite and PCG. You can learn more about this project on my artstation ! ArtStation - LWR - UE5 Large Scale Realistic Open World Environment, Joseph Bardolph

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS - IMPORTANT !

This is a beefy tech demo, and uses hardware ray tracing to run.

Make sure you have a computer with large amounts of RAM and a GPU that supports ray tracing.

This project was tested on a desktop 3070 at 1080p, and ran around 40 fps.

If your pc can't run this, feel free to look at the screenshots and video :)

This build is for windows only. Make sure you updated all your drivers !

HOW TO RUN -

Extract and open the folder, and run the "cliff_test_2" Executable file. Give it a few minutes to spawn foliage and compile shaders, it may looks like it's not responding at first but it just needs a while to load.

CONTROLS -

Escape, M or Tab: Opens menu. This will give you access to the fast travel map !

WASD: move around

Thanks for stopping by ! I would greatly appreciate a donation if you enjoy this kind of project, it will go towards paying for my uni fees :)
